Will Private Public Partnerships effectively improve the lives of the masses that desperately needs a modern-day infrastructure to support their 21st century aspirations? Besides simply fueling the conglomerates’ major hold on the local economy, will the ‘multi-laterals’ be able to deliver what the local government obviously cannot?
The first human case of bird flu in seven years has been diagnosed in Hong Kong, health officials said Thursday, urging the public to take precautions.
A 59-year-old woman was hospitalized in serious condition after a trip to mainland China, the Hong Kong Department of Health said.
Her illness was diagnosed as influenza A (H5), a variant of bird flu. It was unclear where she had contracted the disease. She did not have any contact with live poultry and did not visit farms while in China, Hong Kong health officials said
Madison Avenue agencies are hemorrhaging because the American Dream is still in a coma. Don’t get me wrong, even folks who burn the flag overseas will still grab a 1-way ticket Stateside if given the opportunity to escape a harsh, difficult environment. But agencies will not be able to heal the wounds, bridge the gap, and heal the rift with consumers just by hiring techies who can write code or having Boomer Digital Immigrants attend these “feel-good” symposiums.
Its a global audience, indeed. So go figure out how to sell the pitch to Rwandans selling in the street-markets or to Filipino massage-therapists killing time inside an Internet cafe. And yes, they could hardly give a damn what Google has to offer nor what Amazon is. Once the firms that actually created the American Dream figure things out that the Old Days simply will never return - because the media gates have now opened, only then will the Dream become alive again… for those in the US as well.

Family members of the victims in Delhi said it looked like the #building was “made of sand” as it #collapsed in front of their eyes. http://bit.ly/cu3zhj
#NaNoWriMo Week 1 was a dud for me, it’s all good. Had some much needed tweaks on characters, sub-plots & set-pieces. Very busy coming week as well, so glad its Monday! No more day-dreaming!
Amazing, heart-breaking, inspiring… need for change.
Photographer James Mollison’s Where Children Sleep documents the personal spaces of kids around the world, from the middle-class and prosperous to the strikingly impoverished.
NaNoWriMo officially begins for me… as well as to countless other writers across the globe. My characters, come to me.
